More passions: #4 NASCAR
Moving along on the eight passions front: it’s time to bring up my dirty little secret: I’m a fan of stock car racing, or as most would say, “I’m a NASCAR fan”.
I do not know how this happened. Somewhere around 1998, I realized I was going out of my way to watch the race on TV every Sunday. Two years later I’m watching minor league races and in possession of far too much stock car trivia.
Here’s the appeal: the intense competition, the engineering challenge, and the business intricacies.
My mania is a little down from its peak these days, but, be warned: I will still talk about this topic endlessly (in fact, I’ve set a word limit in this post because I am worried about running on and on!)
Conversation-wise, the topic doesn’t need to be limited to stock car racing: I’m happy to discuss any sort of motorsport you’re in to: F1, WRC, or whatever. Even the workings of automobiles or the automotive industry are fair game.
Okay, that’s my word limit!

Sounds like a Gordon fan to me. Only us rednecks enjoy the finer aspects of auto raci’n, oil weight gear ratios and the like. Maybe you should invent your own sport like long distance snowball throwin or something

Hank, I’m disappointed that you stoop to perpetuating tired and negative stereotypes of stock car racing fans!
